Yassin's Poems

I am not a wild rebel,
My love for the Mountain
Was never an accident.
It is the story of my life,
And all my nation’s history.

Under each and every stone
Are the bones of the invader.
In the soft red flowers
You can smell our murder.

From the beginning of history
This beautiful Mountain was
A castle for freedom seekers,
A garden for pure love, and true lovers.

For our fathers and grandfathers
It was the only protector,
A steadfast refuge
From the unjust rulers.
